Following a well-established initiative of the same name that began in 2014, Port Said Ala Adeemo is a limited liability company (LLC) that was founded in 2020 with the primary goal of redefining Port Said's heritage through workshops and cultural events (heritage tours, rehabilitation of heritage places, collaborate/organize cultural events).
Our primary project, StaBene, was launched in 2022 and is regarded as Port Said's top cultural destination. It was nominated for the 2023 State Encouragement Prize in Arts as a pioneering example of repurposing places in Egypt for the benefit of the arts and culture. In addition, StaBene provides a co-working area with a cultural experience and holds courses and events.

Main Projects / Activities
During its first three years, StaBene worked with a variety of organizations involved in the Egyptian and global art and culture scenes. One of our primary partnerships was the "Bazar Abbas Recovery Lab," a project organized by Galala University in Egypt and BTU in Germany that aims to restore one of Port Said's oldest marketplaces.
Beginning in October 2023, Port Said Ala Adeemo oversaw two cultural funds (totaling 280,000 EGP) from the Goethe Institute and Tandem organization, which were intended to protect Port Said's endangered musical and historical legacy. With the help of these funds, a new generation of young people was born, bringing the legacy to them and giving it a contemporary, artistic touch that brought it back to life.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
The Port Said Ala Adeemo has been a hub for national and international collaborations over the past four years. These partnerships have enabled us to host, manage, and organize comprehensive experiences for visitors to Port Said. One of our notable art collaborations was the “Zay El Naharda” project in July 2024. This initiative brought together artists from diverse fields to create and showcase works including filmmaking, oil painting, and storytelling, culminating in a large-scale event.
In October 2024, we partnered with Orient Productions to host an interactive monodrama theater show, during which we handled various logistical, organizational, and marketing tasks. Following that, the “El Nadaha” project highlighted a unique fusion of Semsemya music with other musical styles. This initiative also involved teaching new participants how to craft, play, and dance to this traditional music.
These experiences have demonstrated our ability to contribute meaningfully to the ALF network, positioning Port Said as a gateway for future collaborations within the network.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
Joining the ALF network will allow us to explore and exchange tools and ideas with its members, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and networking. These opportunities will enhance our decision-making by drawing on the experiences of others. We also see the network as a robust platform that connects Mediterranean initiatives, which will further enrich our efforts in Port Said, our beloved Mediterranean city. Becoming part of this network will elevate our expertise, strengthen our connections, and expand the scope of the programs offered through the ALF
