Main Projects / Activities

Fortress of Culture continuously works on designing, preparing, and implementing projects related to cultural tourism development, preservation, and valorization of cultural heritage. Along with the fortresses' revitalization projects, the institution has been actively educating people of all ages about the city's history and fortifications through workshops, art shows, conferences, and cultural events. Many implemented projects are based on raising awareness of sustainable practices, creating accessible content for diverse people, and empowering vulnerable groups to maintain an active role in cultural life.

A list of some notable projects and activities includes:
Sustain4SeniorsHub, financed by Erasmus+, provided the seniors with knowledge on green practices to encourage their civic participation in cultural heritage sites. To further highlight their importance and contribution to the community, the institution has established a Silver Friends Club, offering free access to all Silver programs and discounted memberships.
Creative Šibenik Network of Integrated Cultural Development KREŠIMIR, financed by ESF, successfully activated the local communities in decision-making regarding cultural life by establishing a local creative network, encouraging cooperation between the civic and public sectors.
FORTIC Project, financed by Interreg Italy – Croatia 2021-2027 Programme, envisions the business model of fortifications as a catalyst for economic growth, social inclusion, and innovation. Recognizing the role of cultural institutions as a driving force toward creating a ''heritage community'', the Green Sustain Lab workshop was organized to further strengthen the institution's capacities by educating them about topics such as climate change adaptation, environmental sustainability, and circular economy practices.
The Fortress of Culture is also an i3.0 Strategic Partner within The Community Potential Program, financed by the National Foundation for Civil Society Development. Within the area of culture, the program aims to utilize joint forces of secondary school students and people of the third age to become change-makers in their communities by developing initiatives and activities.
