General Information

Rasm Misr is an artistic and educational activity that provides its services for free to amateurs, professionals, and lovers of fine arts, architecture, and the history of Egypt. The group is accustomed to going down to historical areas on Friday mornings every week, where the founder chooses the place and provides historical and scientific context, and introduces the aesthetic values and decorative elements of its monuments and landmarks, and narrates stories from parallel history about its streets and people, and details of the heritage, then the members begin to draw their artworks, each from his artistic perspective, and accordingly the roles alternate around documenting and recording the scientific and artistic content during the tour, which is broadcast weekly

Mission and Objectives

"Rasm Misr" project aims to:

Develop the drawing and photography skills of society groups in general and youth in particular - amateurs and specialists - who attend the "rasm masr" tours.

Introducing different groups of society especially the youth group to the history of their country through historical artistic tours of the most important places.

Documenting the historical places visited by members of the "rasm masr" project through drawing and photography and producing films and various documentaries.

Directing attention to The importance of group field work - what is useful - in developing the social aspects of young people.

Main Projects / Activities

The main activities include organizing weekly guided drawing and photography tours to historical sites, providing educational sessions on cultural heritage and artistic techniques, and facilitating group discussions and workshops. We will also document the tours through photos and videos, create exhibitions and online content to showcase the participants’ work, and collaborate with local cultural institutions to expand outreach. Regular feedback sessions will ensure continuous improvement and participant engagement.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

I can contribute to the network by sharing my experience in community-based art initiatives, particularly through the “Rasm Misr” project. I can help promote intercultural dialogue, heritage preservation, and youth engagement through collaborative art events, workshops, and exhibitions. I’m also able to connect the network with students, artists, and educators in my field to expand its reach. Additionally, I can support content creation and visual documentation that highlights the network’s impact at the national level.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

I want to join the ALF Network to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations who share a vision for intercultural dialogue, youth empowerment, and cultural heritage preservation. Being part of the network will allow me to exchange experiences, collaborate on cross-border initiatives, and expand the impact of my work through collective efforts. I believe the network offers a valuable platform to promote inclusive growth, creativity, and mutual understanding across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
