Mission and Objectives

Established in 2015, Recycle Lebanon is a trailblazing Lebanese NGO on a mission to catalyse systemic change through creative ecology. We steward an interconnected approach to tackle the cross-sectorial ecology crisis. Recycle Lebanon stewards a holistic and action-oriented approach, tackling the cross-sectorial ecology crisis through four interconnected programmes emphasising social justice, access to data, conscious consumption, creative residency and agroecology bio-design alternatives. We aim to model a circular economy and demonstrate the viability of regenerative practices to inspire others with practical, and hands-on examples to join us in growing a circular future.

Main Projects / Activities

Recycle Lebanon stewards a holistic and action-oriented approach, tackling the cross-sectorial ecology crisis through four interconnected programmes emphasising social justice, access to data, conscious consumption, art residency and agroecology bio-design alternatives. TerraPods is a hub for creative ecology, integrating agroecology, bio-design, and the arts in a biodiverse space featuring farmland, food forests, medicinal and dye gardens. The facility includes a bio-design makerspace, residency units, a lab kitchen, an art gallery, and an EcoSouk marketplace. Welcoming artists and researchers, TerraPods fosters STEAM-led interdisciplinary collaboration to address environmental challenges. Our 'Grow, Create, Market' model challenges traditional industry and agriculture, producing diverse bio-materials in-house. This self-sufficiency approach enhances the availability of local products, fostering a resilient and sustainable future. RegenerateHub circular economy platform aims to engage community action by data visualising access to nature-based alternatives. With RegenerateHub, the organisation provides valuable data and insights that drive systemic change and promote transparent practices. RegenerateHub's circular economy platform catalyzes community engagement, empowering users with data-driven insights for research, policy recommendations, and collaborative efforts. This fosters climate-driven practices and resilient ecosystems, harmonising just and equitable change with nature-based alternatives to explore resource dynamics across sectors, fostering vitality, and building resilience within interconnected ecosystems EcoSouk [Cultivate Conscious Living at EcoSouk, - the region’s first free-from - zero waste shop.] An eco-conscious marketplace, EcoSouk offers access to reusable, nature based and plastic-free products with a refill bar on tap. Packed with over 150 local producers and change makers showcasing artisanal crafts, selfcare and botanical remedies, cleaning supplies, textiles, homeware and more. At EcoSouk, we steward a flourishing ecosystem, providing local producers with access to distribute their eco-friendly products, promoting a nature-based lifestyle for our growing community, intentionally cultivating conscious living in practice. This contributes to strengthened local economies, reduced environmental impact, and promotes equitable access to resources, fostering a sustainable and inclusive future. Dive Into Action, It Starts With You[th] a policy and empowerment programme with zero waste clean ups, balaplastic (plastic free) transitions, food waste events and native planting initiatives. Dive Into Action, a collective initiative, sparks a transformative shift toward plastic-free practices, fostering a more environmentally conscious and resilient community.
