RedTomato is an independent Italian cultural and music production organization based in Puglia (Southern Italy), founded by Nicolò Marziale. The organization was established with the aim of supporting the creation, production and international dissemination of original artistic projects that combine innovation, cultural heritage and intercultural dialogue.
RedTomato operates at the intersection of music production, artistic management, cultural project development and international cooperation, providing emerging artists and ensembles with professional support throughout the entire creative process, from artistic conception to production, promotion and international distribution.
The organization works closely with musicians, composers, cultural institutions, recording studios, festivals and local authorities, promoting projects that strengthen the cultural identity of the Mediterranean while encouraging artistic experimentation and collaboration across borders.
Mission and Objectives
RedTomato's mission is to promote contemporary artistic creation while enhancing the cultural heritage of Southern Italy through innovative and internationally oriented projects.
Its objectives include:
supporting emerging artists and young composers by providing professional production and management services;
fostering intercultural dialogue through music as a universal language capable of connecting different communities;
promoting collaboration between artists, cultural institutions, universities, conservatories and local administrations;
developing original artistic productions inspired by the cultural diversity of the Mediterranean region;
contributing to the international visibility of Italian contemporary music and young creative talents;
encouraging innovation through the integration of traditional musical languages with contemporary jazz, world music, improvisation and multimedia performance;
creating sustainable cultural projects capable of generating long-term social, educational and economic impact within local communities.
RedTomato believes that culture represents a powerful driver of inclusion, innovation and social cohesion, and that artistic creation can contribute to strengthening dialogue among peoples and promoting mutual understanding across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Main Projects / Activities
RedTomato develops and manages cultural initiatives covering the entire lifecycle of artistic production.
Its main activities include:
Music Production
Production of original albums and contemporary musical works, coordinating artistic direction, recording sessions, mixing, mastering and international digital distribution.
Artistic Management
Strategic support for artists and ensembles through project development, fundraising, communication, international networking and career development.
Cultural Project Design
Development and management of national and European cultural projects involving public institutions, local authorities, foundations and international partners.
International Cooperation
Promotion of collaborations between artists from different cultural backgrounds, with particular attention to the Mediterranean area and intercultural exchange.
Communication and Audience Development
Design and implementation of integrated communication strategies, including press relations, social media campaigns, audiovisual storytelling and audience engagement initiatives.
Training and Capacity Building
Support for young musicians through mentorship, artistic coaching and collaborative projects involving conservatories and higher music education institutions.
Current Flagship Project: Apulia Art Ensemble – Sulfureo
RedTomato is currently producing Sulfureo, the debut album of the Apulia Art Ensemble, an innovative collective directed by internationally acclaimed jazz pianist and composer Maestro Livio Minafra.
The ensemble brings together outstanding young musicians from the Conservatories of Bari, Monopoli and Matera, creating an original musical language that blends contemporary jazz, Mediterranean traditions, Balkan influences, improvisation and orchestral composition.
The project has been selected for funding by Per Chi Crea, the national programme promoted by SIAE (Italian Society of Authors and Publishers) in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Culture, supporting the creation of new original artistic works by emerging authors and performers.
Beyond the album production, the project includes educational activities, community engagement, international promotion and live performances aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue throughout the Mediterranean region.
Through projects such as Sulfureo, RedTomato seeks to position Southern Italy as a creative hub where artistic excellence, cultural heritage and international cooperation converge to generate new opportunities for young artists and local communities.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
RedTomato aims to become an active and long-term contributor to the Anna Lindh Foundation Network by promoting intercultural dialogue through music, artistic cooperation and community-based cultural initiatives across Southern Italy and the wider Mediterranean region.
Based in Puglia, a historical gateway between Europe, the Balkans, North Africa and the Middle East, RedTomato operates in a geographical and cultural context where dialogue among different traditions is part of everyday life. We believe that music is one of the most powerful tools for creating mutual understanding and social cohesion, especially among young generations.
Through our artistic productions, we intend to actively contribute to the Italian ALF Network by:
developing intercultural music projects involving artists from different Mediterranean countries;
promoting collaborations between civil society organisations, municipalities, conservatories, universities and cultural institutions;
supporting young musicians and emerging artists through artistic production, mentoring and international mobility opportunities;
organising concerts, workshops, artistic residencies and public events that encourage participation, inclusion and intercultural exchange;
creating opportunities for dialogue between local communities and migrant communities living in Southern Italy through shared artistic experiences;
disseminating the values and activities of the Anna Lindh Foundation through digital communication, audiovisual storytelling and international partnerships.
Our current flagship project, Apulia Art Ensemble – Sulfureo, perfectly reflects these objectives by bringing together young musicians, Mediterranean musical traditions and contemporary artistic languages into an original cultural production that promotes diversity, dialogue and cooperation.
Beyond our own activities, we are committed to actively participating in Network meetings, sharing expertise in cultural project management and music production, contributing to joint European initiatives and building sustainable partnerships with other ALF members in Italy and across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
We see membership in the Anna Lindh Foundation not only as an opportunity to strengthen our international cooperation but also as a responsibility to contribute to a more inclusive, creative and interconnected Mediterranean community through culture.

Being based in Puglia, Southern Italy, we operate in one of the Mediterranean's most historically connected territories, where European, Balkan, Middle Eastern and North African cultures have met and influenced one another for centuries.
