SETEM Navarra–Nafarroa is a non-profit organisation based in Pamplona (Navarre) that is part of the SETEM Federation, which brings together a total of six regional Non-Governmental Development Organizations (NGDOs) in Catalonia, Andalusia, Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha, the Basque Country, the Valencian Community and Navarra.
We have been part of the Alternative and Solidarity Economy Network REAS and the network of NGOs of Navarra since its constitution.
SETEM Navarra-Nafarroa works to raise awareness about North-South inequalities, denouncing their causes and promoting social, individual and collective transformations to build a more just, equal and supportive world for all people.
Our funds come from associated people and public funders such as the European Union, the Government of Navarra and the Pamplona City Council.
We participate in European volunteering programs and others through the European Erasmus + program.
Our staff is a technical team made up of 4 people. Moreover there are about 30 volunteers.
Mission and Objectives
We are people who believe in a fair and sustainable world and our goal is to work to eradicate the structural causes that generate poverty and inequalities through individual and collective change for a culture of international solidarity that respects all peoples and all persons.
Main Projects / Activities
-Training and Education for Development through differents projects such as Rueda de Valores, Escuelas Solidaridas.
- Citizen Mobilisation, through awareness and denunciation campaigns such as:
The Clean Clothes Campaign www.ropalimpia.org focused on the textile and footwear industry, which demands changes to avoid the current situation of exploitation and bad labour conditions, specialy in global South.
The BancaArmada Campaign www.bancaarmada.org focused on the denunciation of banks that invest in weapons.
- Raising public awareness about Responsible Consumption and Fair Trade and advocating for the promotion of real alternatives through the marketing of fair trade products in our store, fairs or catering.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
We learned about the foundation through a person from Hungary who has been a volunteer in her country. We belive that the network is very interesting and we would like to be part of it and make it known in our region. We have a project related to muralism to express our rejection of wars and promote a world in peace.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
We believe in conflict resolution through dialogue and peaceful coexistence among peoples. Networking is essential to achieve this goal and by joining Anna Lindh's international network we would like to strengthen relationships between organizations that have the same objective.
We are going to paint a beautiful wall againts wars and we would like be suported by Anna Lindh Fundation throught te call #SomosElCambio" acciones que transforman.
