All performances and events in Performing Arts Center are financed by Sabancı University. A full-time staff is working to organize the events with the voluntary contributions of students as well. The international theatre performances up to now have been: ‘Medea’ (USA, in 2005), ‘Don Juan’ (Russia), ‘Last Harem’ (Italy). This year in April, 2 theatre performances from Denmark and Switzerland will be put on stage.Mission and Objectives
The Sabancı University Performing Arts Center: MAKE TIME FOR THE ARTS The Sabancı University Performing Arts Center (SGM) aims to contribute to the rich cultural life of Istanbul, particularly to the city’s Anatolian coast, and provide cultural and artistic services to the University’s students and staff, as well as to all art appreciators in the region. The Center’s goal is to organize activities through which art appreciators of all ages and from all walks of life can interact with the arts, as well as to become a prestigious performing arts center renown for the quality of its performing national and international artists and groups. This world class center has a superb accoustic design making it an ideal venue for art performances such as operas, theater plays, ballet performances and concerts. In a typical week the center offers three different events enhancing the life quality of the entire community.Main Projects / Activities
