General Information

Shemool for Development Association (SFD) is a non-profit organization based in Giza, Egypt. We work in the fields of youth empowerment, social inclusion, and community development, with a strong focus on people with disabilities and young people with fewer opportunities. SFD holds the Quality Label for the European Solidarity Corps.

Mission and Objectives

Our mission is to empower young people especially those facing social, economic, or physical barriers, by providing inclusive learning opportunities, building life skills, and promoting active citizenship. We aim to foster inclusion, social cohesion, and equal access to opportunities through non-formal education, sports, and community initiatives.

Main Projects / Activities

Our main activities include youth training courses, volunteering actions, and community projects using non-formal education methods. A flagship initiative is our cerebral palsy football team, which uses sports as a tool for inclusion, confidence-building, and social integration. We also participate in Erasmus+ projects, ESC volunteering, and Euro-Mediterranean cooperation activities.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

SFD can contribute by mobilizing local youth organizations, sharing good practices in inclusion and youth work, hosting activities and events, and facilitating dialogue between Egyptian youth and Euro-Mediterranean partners. We also support awareness-raising on intercultural dialogue and social cohesion at the community level.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We value the Anna Lindh Foundation Network as a strong platform for intercultural dialogue, cooperation, and mutual understanding across the Mediterranean. Continuing as a member allows us to exchange knowledge, build partnerships, and amplify the voices of young people, especially those from marginalized communities, at the regional and international levels.
