Development Youth Organization is a non-profit and non-governmental organization based in Sivas in Turkey. As an association, our aim is to identify the interests, needs and problems of the youth, to create supportive policies in personal, social and sports fields by working in coordination and cooperation with solution partners, to produce, implement and support projects based on continuous education and development, and thus to be an active member of social life, to train young leaders who are innovative, self-confident, aware of national and moral values, and have the ability to represent internationally.
Mission and Objectives
Our mission is to provide and promote mobility opportunities for young people, helping them improve their personal and professional skills. It undertakes several initiatives to promote and enhance active European citizenship, intercultural communication, social integration and volunteering. Developing programs that will enable young people to develop their personalities and participate in activities that will enable the society to develop positively, within the framework of the principles of unity, solidarity, development and peace. To ensure the activation and development of civil society activities, to establish partnerships with people and organizations working on this issue and to undertake the executive role in the activities to be implemented.
To carry out activities for the purpose of protecting and improving the social, spiritual, moral, physical and mental abilities of our youth, their sports, education and training rights, social and cultural assets, family structure and private lives. to carry out studies on this subject in order to ensure the effectiveness and development of these activities, to take the executive role in the activities to be implemented by establishing partnerships with individuals and institutions, and to enable young people to use their spare time with useful works and activities; thus, it was established with the aim of keeping them away from places and habits that would be harmful to their mental and physical health.
Main Projects / Activities
Our main activities are based on intercultural learning, by using a non-formal education and youth program actions in order to encourage the youth participation in the international context, so abolishing the barriers between countries, reducing the racism and promoting the tolerance between different cultures.
Our organization wants to encourage youth initiatives by young people. We support them by providing information, tools, and training to help them get their goals.
We are active, sending, hosting and coordinating, with more than 50 people per year
Our major activities in the International Office include, but are not limited to, the following typical activities:
- Mobility programs
- Sports activities such as martial arts, dance and outdoor activities.
- Sending, hosting and coordinating ESC programs
- Educational training courses, national and international level
- Organization of youth exchanges within the framework of the Youth Program
- Organization of seminars, conferences, workshops and youth initiatives projects for our
members
- Offering leisure activities and social, cultural and sport activities for young people and adults
- Promoting European values and cooperation among students, teaching staff and all other
workers in our local.
- Supporting people with fewer opportunities and those with special educational needs, immigrants and refugees.
- Taking active roles in determining youth policies at the local level
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
We have been cooperating strongly with other organizations and actors, such as municipalities, Universities, Public Bodies, private bodies, businesses, research centers, transnational bodies, and other NGOs, with the aim of improving the capacity of young people. We are ready to give active support for promotion of the program.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
As an active youth organization, we aim to promote cross-cultural collaboration by bringing civil society entities from the Mediterranean countries, to collaborate with other actors to develop our capacity and experiences in the field of youth.
