The Social Innovation Cluster of Castilla-La Mancha (SIC CLM) is a platform for collaborative, human-centered innovation, advancing green and digital transitions through place-based solutions and transformative approaches. Using open innovation model that integrates public, private, academic, and community sectors, SIC CLM aims to foster an open, creative ecosystem where diverse actors unite to drive sustainable development and impactful change. As a leader in social innovation, SIC CLM enables its members to break down silos, align with Society 5.0 principles, and co-create solutions for complex societal challenges.
Mission and Objectives
SIC CLM Cluster is dedicated to creating a dynamic, participatory ecosystem that empowers all actors to co-create solutions for the wicked problems of today and tomorrow. Our mission is to harness the power of place-based and human-centered innovation by facilitating social
experimentation, cultivating communities of practice, and championing new public governance models that foster transparency, accountability, and inclusivity.
We are committed to:
• Supporting public, private, and community actors in developing human-centered, sustainable solutions that strengthen the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of Castilla-La Mancha, with a vision towards scaling up impactful social innovation.
• Fostering collaborative partnerships across sectors to drive transformative innovation that enhances quality of life, builds economic resilience, and creates an interconnected community rooted in participatory and collaborative governance.
• Empowering companies and organizations to quantify and expand their social and environmental impact, supporting them in implementing long-term, value-driven social innovation initiatives that align with regional and global priorities.
• Providing resources, capacity-building, knowledge-sharing platforms, and co-creation opportunities to equip stakeholders to adapt, grow, and remain competitive in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
Main Projects / Activities
Key Areas of Activity:
1. Innovation Labs: Providing spaces for prototyping, testing, and scaling projects that address complex social, economic, and environmental challenges.
2. Training and Capacity Building: Equipping members with skills in sustainable development, digital literacy, leadership, and innovation through workshops, bootcamps, and tailored learning programs.
3. Data-Driven Insights: Utilizing its Social Innovation Observatory to gather and analyze data, enabling informed decision-making and strategy development.
4. Community Engagement: Developing participatory governance models and fostering partnerships that strengthen the region’s social and economic resilience.
5. Sustainability Initiatives: Promoting practices aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as renewable energy, the circular economy, and community-led environmental actions.
