General Information

SOLACE (Stories of Local Active Citizen Engagement) asbl is a newly established non-profit organisation in Luxembourg, voluntarily managed by 3 core administrative members. Our mode of action centres on utilising creative storytelling and interactive citizen forums to bridge cultural divides and foster inclusion. As a newly launched grassroots initiative, SOLACE is currently in its foundational phase; we do not yet receive any external funding, donations, or stable financial resources. However, our team demonstrated the potential of our vision by achieving our first collective success at the EU Civic Tech Hackathon. We are now actively exploring collaboration opportunities, public grants, and strategic network partnerships to secure the resources necessary to transition our innovative project ideas into impactful community realities.

Mission and Objectives

Our primary mission is to foster social cohesion, inclusion, and solidarity among all residents in Luxembourg, regardless of their background. We achieve this by using storytelling to elevate the voices and lived experiences of migrants and underrepresented communities.

Main Projects / Activities

Our planned activities span both digital and physical community spaces to maximise engagement. We are developing a digital storytelling platform, alongside community-based initiatives. To celebrate diversity, we design cross-cultural activities such as multicultural festivals, culinary workshops, artistic exhibitions, and inclusive sporting events. Our foundational milestone is our project prototype designed during the EU Civic Tech Hackathon.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

SOLACE will contribute a fresh, grassroots perspective on integration and civic tech innovation to the Luxembourgish national network. We can share our creative methodologies in multimedia storytelling and podcasting to help network partners amplify their own projects.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We wish to join the ALF Network to connect with experienced Euro-Mediterranean civil society actors who share our dedication to intercultural dialogue. As a new association, membership will provide our team with vital opportunities for capacity-building resources and potential partners for future cross-border grants.
