Our over 50 member organisations are based in 24 countries (19 of which are EU countries)
and include national CSOs in Europe and abroad. Our greater family also entails partner
organisations active at the international level as well as local organisations spread across
more than 40 countries in Latin America, Asia and Africa.
The network is brought together by its shared values of solidarity, equality and
participation, and its mission that we achieve more together in solidarity.

The strategic objective for 2020-2025 is: Together with our members and allies SOLIDAR has influenced European policies to promote a socially just and sustainable Europe through a just transition, mirrored also in the EUs external relations.
Main Projects / Activities
The objectives pursued by SOLIDAR are directly
and exclusively in the public interest, and the
association organises the work of its members in
relation to the following three Pillars and activities
to fulfil its mission and pursue its vision:
a) International cooperation
Influencing policy making to advance
progressive and solidarity-driven development
policies and external action working at
the EU level as well as in relation to other
decision-making bodies such as the ILO and

joint initiatives; reinforcing solidarity and developing exchanges of experience between
organisations, in particular between partners
supported by SOLIDAR members globally.

progressive proposals for a more sustainable,
solidaric and just development model.

Offering a platform for cooperation, mutual
support and strategic relations for our members
engaged in formal, non-formal and informal
educational activities that foster an educated
and well-informed citizenry and their active
participation in decision-making. Through
internal and external activities promoting a
learning culture and influencing educational
and development policies of the EU from
the perspective of popular and citizenship
education and the access to lifelong and lifewide learning for all.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
SOLIDAR can contribute to the Anna Lindh network as a bridge builder between national level organisations and European level decision making. We come with an extensive network of member organisations as well as a long experience from policy making and influence that could contribute to the information and experience sharing and mutual cooperation of the network.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
We are looking to expand our networks and alliances to reach broader consensus with wide ranging partners to advance our vision and aims. We see it as vital for all forces interested in a multilateral and rules based order, in social justice and human rights, in solidarity and cooperation, to come together and whenever possible join forces. We need to cooperate more, not less, bridge differences, not deepen them, increase our reach. We believe that the ALF network in broader terms and in Belgium offers an opportunity to do this together and look forward to working to advance our shared aims.
