SOS Children's Villages Lebanon is a non-governmental non-profit social development National Association and a member of the International Federation of SOS Children's Villages (SOS CV) which is an umbrella organization for 135 national SOS CV associations in the world among them are 9 Arab countries. We are part of the world’s largest practitioner movement for supporting the right of the children who are deprived of parental care or at risk of losing it by providing them with family-based care and preventing child abandonment through our Family Strengthening Program (FSP).
Mission and Objectives
We build families for children in need.
We help them shape their own futures.
We share in the development of their communities.
Main Projects / Activities
SOS Children’s Villages Lebanon supports vulnerable children, youth, and families through integrated programs, including family-like care for children without parental support, family strengthening initiatives to prevent child separation, emergency response services during crises, vocational and life skills training for youth via the YouthCan! program, and social-financial education through Aflatoun. They also engage in advocacy and research efforts, such as contributing to studies on Lebanon’s child protection system and decision-making in alternative care placements, aiming to influence policy and improve child welfare practices.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
SOS Children’s Villages Lebanon can contribute to the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) Network by bringing its long-standing expertise in child protection, youth empowerment, and community resilience to support intercultural dialogue and social inclusion across the Euro-Mediterranean region. Through its diverse programs—such as family-like care, family strengthening, YouthCan!, and Aflatoun—SOS fosters safe, inclusive environments where children and youth from diverse backgrounds grow with dignity and participate actively in society. By sharing research, advocating for child rights, and engaging in regional collaborations, SOS can amplify marginalized voices, co-create impactful initiatives, and host dialogue-driven events that align with ALF’s mission of transforming dialogue into action.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
We want to join the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) Network to engage in meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and action with like-minded organizations across the Euro-Mediterranean region. As SOS Children’s Villages Lebanon, we believe that fostering intercultural understanding and inclusive participation is essential to building resilient communities, especially for children and youth who have lost or are at risk of losing parental care. By joining the ALF Network, we aim to contribute our expertise in child protection, youth empowerment, and family strengthening while learning from others, co-developing innovative initiatives, and amplifying the voices of those we serve. This collaboration will enable us to scale our impact, advocate for human rights and social cohesion, and help shape a more just, compassionate, and connected region.
