We are Utrecht Youth Network, a youth-led network based in the Netherlands working with a global perspective. We believe in bottom-up change and in the power of young people as changemakers. Together we create spaces where young people from different backgrounds can meet, organise initiatives, speak up and shape their communities.

Mission and Objectives
Our mission is to empower young people (16-35) to become active changemakers in their communities. We work through three pillars: Encounter (bringing young people from different backgrounds together through dialogue and international exchanges), Empowerment (supporting young people to develop ideas, skills and initiatives), and Engagement (encouraging young people to participate in society and speak up on issues that matter). We focus on inclusion and diversity, peace and security, migration and integration, democracy and youth participation and human rights.

Utrecht Peace Project: a long-term programme connecting young people around themes of peace, security and conflict awareness
Utrecht Changemakers: empowering young people to organise local initiatives focused on inclusion and peaceful coexistence
Dialogue events: creating safe spaces for young people from different backgrounds to discuss peace, security and social challenges
Youth exchanges: international exchanges where young people explore themes of peace, migration and inclusion across borders
- Youth worker trainings: building capacity among youth workers on conflict awareness, facilitation and community building
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
Utrecht Youth Network can contribute to the ALF Network in the Netherlands by connecting ALF’s intercultural dialogue agenda to an active and growing community of young people. We bring a strong grassroots network of around 90 young people and multiple youth organisations in Utrecht. Through our local activities, dialogue events and international exchanges, we can raise awareness about Euro-Mediterranean cooperation and bring ALF’s mission closer to youth in the Netherlands.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
We want to join the ALF Network to strengthen our international work and connect with civil society organisations across the Mediterranean. Peace, security and intercultural dialogue are central to everything we do, and the ALF Network aligns directly with our mission. As a youth-led organisation, we believe young people from both shores of the Mediterranean have much to learn from each other. The network offers us the opportunity to find like-minded partners, develop joint projects and contribute to a more peaceful and inclusive Euro-Mediterranean region.
