We are a student association, which means all kinds of students can be members. We organize weekly events, which can be lectures, a symposium, a workgroup, or something more casual. There are always drinks afterwards. These lectures are usually more related to international relations and politics, but can be about anything relevant, like femicide as well.
Mission and Objectives
We are a place where students can meet and socialize with each other. You can meet people with the same interests as you and discuss political topics, or just have a drink together.
Main Projects / Activities
We do weekly events like lectures, symposiums, workgroups, or a crisis simulation. We also go on 3 trips a year, where we visit all kinds of institutions, like the local Parliament or Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We also have a yearly event called the Japanese Tables Evening, where we have over 50 ambassadors over to the City Hall in Leiden, where they can speak, speeddate style, with students. There come around 150 students to this event. We also do the Hague Tables Evening, which is the same concept but with all kinds of national politicians.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
We have a great reach in the tour and student network in Leiden, with people who are interested in international topics.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
On recommendation of Kees Hulsman, we would like to see if we can join any projects.
