General Information

Taqadum is a non-profit Palestinian organization, founded in 2022, aiming to create a positive impact for Palestinian women and youth in public affairs, through participation, influence, and constructive contribution. It aims to break free from ready-made social molds and canned ideas by leaving the comfortable societal margins towards horizons that unleash and empower the energies of Palestinian youth through initiative, criticism, creativity, and effective contribution to the public sphere. The organization aims to motivate the removal of the calcification and sediments generated by false populist certainties, towards promoting a culture of methodical research and conscious concern regarding public issues, in order to create an environment capable of producing creative, free, and independent thought. Taqadum adopts a set of tracks in its work, including training, round table discussions, expert opinions, volunteer work, field activities, conferences, dialogue forums, and discussion groups. The organization aims to build peace and promote the values of freedom, solidarity, social justice, and equality, and believes in the capabilities of youth and their contribution to the march of sustainable development, through the use of innovative means and tools, including the optimal use of technology, global communication tools, and the world of innovation that makes the world a more communicative and cooperative space for humans.

Mission and Objectives

Our mission is to ignite a global movement of empowered women and youth who champion peace, nonviolence, and democratic values. Through innovative education, bold advocacy, and grassroots community engagement, we aim to transform conflict zones into thriving hubs of sustainable development. We envision a world where every voice resonates, where human rights are the cornerstone of society, and where the power of nonviolent action dismantles the foundations of discrimination and injustice.

Main Projects / Activities

We dare to imagine a world where the energy of youth and the wisdom of women converge to rewrite the narrative of peace. Our vision is a tapestry of resilient communities, woven together by threads of mutual understanding, where every individual is an architect of positive change. We see a future where peace is not just the absence of conflict, but a vibrant ecosystem of justice, equality, and shared prosperity, nurtured by the hands of empowered women and youth who lead with compassion, innovate with purpose, and govern with integrity

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

As a representative of Takadom Taqadum, I can contribute to the Network by fostering a collaborative space that amplifies the voices of Palestinian youth and women in public life. Our organization is deeply committed to enabling constructive civic engagement that challenges societal stagnation and embraces critical, creative thinking. We aim to share our grassroots experience in building youth-led initiatives, promoting gender inclusivity, and encouraging methodical, research-based approaches to public discourse.

Through our work, we can contribute to the Network by:

Sharing Best Practices – We can provide models of youth and women-led initiatives that have effectively engaged with public affairs in Palestine, which can inspire similar efforts across the region.
Facilitating Cross-Border Dialogues – We believe in the power of regional solidarity. By connecting with like-minded organizations within the Network, we can co-host forums and workshops that promote a culture of civic responsibility, creativity, and policy influence.
Advancing Civic Literacy – We can collaborate on educational programs aimed at improving civic knowledge, critical media literacy, and political participation among marginalized groups, especially in conflict-affected contexts.
Promoting Independent Thought – In line with our mission to move beyond populist rhetoric and inherited dogmas, we can contribute intellectually through research, publications, and discussions that provoke thoughtful, inclusive conversations about public policy and social justice.
Strengthening Community-Led Advocacy – Our local experience in mobilizing communities, especially young people, around pressing public issues allows us to contribute methodologies and strategies for effective grassroots advocacy that others in the Network might adapt to their own contexts.
By participating in the Network, we seek not only to share what we’ve learned but also to learn from others, expand our perspective, and collectively strengthen the role of civil society in shaping equitable, inclusive futures across the region.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We want to join the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) Network because its mission and vision deeply align with our own aspirations at Takadom Taqadum—to create a more inclusive, critically engaged, and creatively empowered society across the Mediterranean region. As a Palestinian civil society organization committed to empowering women and youth in public affairs, we see ALF as a natural platform for expanding our impact, deepening cross-cultural understanding, and contributing to a shared space of peace, justice, and meaningful dialogue.

The ALF Network provides a unique opportunity to:

Connect Local Action with Regional Impact – By joining the ALF Network, we can amplify local Palestinian voices and grassroots initiatives within a broader regional conversation, allowing us to both share our experiences and learn from others tackling similar social, cultural, and political challenges.
Strengthen Intercultural Dialogue – We believe in the power of genuine dialogue as a tool for social transformation. ALF’s emphasis on intercultural exchange complements our mission to break societal stagnation and encourage independent, critical thought, especially among young people.
Build Strategic Collaborations – The Network offers a valuable space for collaboration with like-minded organizations from across the Euro-Mediterranean region. We are eager to co-develop projects, research, and campaigns that bridge diverse communities and foster shared solutions.
Empower Youth and Women Regionally – Our work in Palestine focuses on dismantling social molds and enabling youth and women to participate actively in the public sphere. We see ALF as a platform through which we can both contribute to and benefit from collective regional efforts to enhance civic engagement and gender equality.
Promote a Culture of Thoughtful Action – In a region often marked by conflict and division, ALF’s approach of turning dialogue into action resonates with our own commitment to methodical inquiry, community-based initiatives, and creative problem-solving.
Joining the ALF Network is not just about membership—it is about becoming part of a living ecosystem of change-makers committed to building a future where diversity is embraced, dialogue is sustained, and justice and freedom are attainable for all.
