Terre Divine APS is a small non-profit organization based in Southern Italy, with 7 core staff members and a network of local partners, including cultural associations, artisans and bakers.
Our annual budget is modest and comes mainly from membership fees, project-based contributions.
We operate through concrete projects such as experiential tourism programs, workshops on traditional bread-making and food culture, storytelling initiatives, educational courses and cultural seminars. We also organize training sessions for youth and community engagement activities.
The main partners include local municipalities, schools, the Pro Loco of the city of Matera, the Murgia Materana Park Authority, the Terra delle Gravine Regional Park Authority and the cultural networks of the Mediterranean.
Our approach combines practical experiences, community participation and intercultural dialogue, with the aim of preserving intangible heritage, promoting local identity and creating opportunities for collaboration between Mediterranean territories.
Mission and Objectives
Terre Divine APS aims to promote cultural heritage, Mediterranean dialogue and community engagement through experiential projects that connect local traditions, landscapes and people. We focus on the protection and valorization of both tangible and intangible heritage, such as traditional baking, storytelling and artistic practices, to promote social inclusion and intercultural understanding.
Goals:
- Develop experiential tourism and educational programs that highlight local heritage and traditions.
- Strengthen community participation and capacity development through workshops, seminars and hands-on cultural activities.
- Promote intercultural dialogue and cooperation between Mediterranean countries through partnerships, exchanges and collaborative projects.
- Preserve and enhance intangible heritage as a tool for identity, social cohesion and sustainable cultural development.
Main Projects / Activities
Terre Divine APS develops experiential cultural projects that connect communities, traditions, and landscapes across Southern Italy, with a focus on Mediterranean heritage.
Our activities are rooted in territories such as Matera and the Gravine area, where we design immersive experiences that combine cultural heritage, storytelling, and community participation.
Our main initiatives include experiential tourism programs, workshops on traditional bread-making and food culture, storytelling projects, and educational paths related to intangible cultural heritage.
We are currently developing projects such as “The Bread of Peace”, which promote bread as a symbol of identity, community, and intercultural dialogue across the Mediterranean.
Our approach integrates culture, sustainability, and social engagement, aiming to create meaningful experiences that foster dialogue, inclusion, and cooperation between Mediterranean cultures.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
Terre Divine APS can contribute to the ALF network in Italy by promoting community-based cultural initiatives that connect local heritage with Mediterranean dialogue.
We aim to activate local communities through experiential projects in areas such as Matera and the Gravine, creating opportunities for intercultural exchange and participation.
Our association can host workshops, cultural events, and educational activities focused on intangible heritage, particularly food culture and traditional bread-making as tools for dialogue and inclusion.
We are also interested in building partnerships with other Mediterranean organizations to co-create projects, exchanges, and mobility programs, especially involving youth and local communities.
Through our work, we seek to strengthen connections between territories, promote shared Mediterranean identities, and contribute to a more inclusive and participatory cultural ecosystem.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
Terre Divine APS wishes to join the ALF Network to become an active part of a Mediterranean community that promotes dialogue, mutual understanding, and cultural cooperation.
Our work is deeply connected to the values of the Anna Lindh Foundation, as we explore cultural heritage, local traditions, and community practices as tools for building bridges between cultures.
We are particularly interested in developing international partnerships to co-create projects focused on intangible heritage, especially food culture and bread as a shared symbol across the Mediterranean.
Through the ALF Network, we aim to exchange knowledge, collaborate with organizations from other countries, and contribute to innovative and inclusive cultural initiatives.
Joining the network represents for us an opportunity to grow, connect, and actively contribute to a shared Mediterranean space based on dialogue, diversity, and cooperation.
