Jam’iyat Nisa’ Al-Reef (Rural Women Association) is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women in rural areas. The association works to improve the social, economic, and educational conditions of women by providing capacity-building programs, vocational training, and awareness initiatives.
The organization focuses on supporting women’s participation in community development, promoting gender equality, and enhancing access to opportunities and resources. Through partnerships with local and international stakeholders, the association implements projects that address key issues such as women’s rights, economic empowerment, education, and social inclusion.
The association operates at the grassroots level, engaging directly with local communities to ensure that its programs are relevant, sustainable, and impactful.
Mission and Objectives
Mission:
The mission of Jam’iyat Nisa’ Al-Reef (Rural Women Association) is to empower women in rural communities by enhancing their social, economic, and educational opportunities, and by promoting gender equality and active participation in community development.
Objectives:
* To strengthen the capacities of rural women through training, education, and skill development programs.
* To promote women’s economic empowerment by supporting income-generating activities and entrepreneurship.
* To raise awareness on women’s rights, gender equality, and social justice.
* To encourage women’s participation in decision-making processes at the local level.
* To support sustainable community development initiatives that improve the quality of life for women and their families.
* To build partnerships with local and international organizations to expand opportunities and resources for rural women.
Main Projects / Activities
The Jam’iyat Nisa’ Al-Reef (Rural Women Association) implements a range of projects and activities aimed at empowering women and supporting sustainable rural development. These include:
* Organizing vocational training programs in areas such as handicrafts, food production, and small business management to enhance women’s skills and employability.
* Supporting income-generating initiatives and small enterprises led by rural women.
* Conducting awareness sessions and workshops on women’s rights, gender equality, and social issues.
* Implementing educational programs, including literacy classes and life skills training.
* Promoting community engagement through cultural, social, and environmental activities.
* Providing psychosocial support and safe spaces for women to share experiences and build networks.
* Collaborating with local and international partners to implement development projects and expand opportunities for beneficiaries.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
Jam’iyat Nisa’ Al-Reef can contribute to the Network by working directly with rural women in Yatta and surrounding areas, including women in Masafer Yatta, which is a marginalized and under-resourced region. The association focuses on empowering women through training, awareness programs, and community-based initiatives that address their social and economic needs.
We work to strengthen women’s skills, support income-generating activities, and raise awareness on gender equality and women’s rights. In addition, we promote community participation and encourage cooperation between local organizations.
Through our field presence in rural and vulnerable areas, we can share local experiences, implement grassroots projects, and contribute to building a stronger and more inclusive network.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
Jam’iyat Nisa’ Al-Reef seeks to join the Anna Lindh Foundation Network to strengthen its role in promoting intercultural dialogue, gender equality, and community development at both the local and regional levels.
By joining the Network, the association aims to exchange knowledge and experiences with other civil society organizations, build partnerships, and develop more effective programs for rural women and marginalized communities, including those in Yatta and Masafer Yatta.
Membership in the ALF Network will also enhance our capacity to participate in joint initiatives, access training opportunities, and contribute to building more inclusive and peaceful societies across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
