The Society for Advancement of Education, Jerusalem (SAE) is a social-educational organization that has been leading innovation
in Israeli education for generations. SAE's goal is to shape and create opportunities for youth in all of Israel's diverse communities
to realize their full educational potential and achieve academic excellence and social impact. All of SAE’s 11 junior-high and high schools emphasize academic excellence, leadership and social responsibility, and its eight educational residences enable youth from the periphery to attend high-quality schools in the center of the country.
In addition, SAE's national initiatives target youth who made aliya to Israel, encourage gender equity, motivate and support at-risk youth, youth with learning difficulties, build leadership, and much more.

Our mission is to create academic and moral excellence, opportunities accessible to all and facilitating social mobility.
We aspire to lead Innovation in Israeli Education.
Main Projects / Activities
Responding to the needs of numerous sectors within Israeli society, SAE has created unique academic programs for Jewish
secular, orthodox, and ultra-orthodox, as well as Arab, youth and educators. For over 60 years, SAE has touched the lives of tens of thousands of youths from different circles of Israeli society, enabling social mobility and academic and moral excellence through high quality, uncompromising educational achievement. Over 35,000 SAE alumni significantly contribute
to their communities and the State of Israel in a wide range of fields.
One of our flagship programs is the first Arab youth village for leadership, with focus on culture, excellence, and matriculation preparation named 'Sindiana'. Another program is the first secular high-school for girls, with focus on leadership, named 'Inbar'.
K.A.N. Community high-school and Ein Gedi Educational Village - these are just several of our many educational programs and institutions.
National programs:
SAE’s pedagogical experts and educators are known for their expertise and commitment to advancing educational opportunities for children from underserved communities. This has led the Ministry of Education and the Jewish Agency to assign SAE to operate national educational projects. Major projects with a strategic importance for the state of Israel include:
-NA'ALE Elite Academy, in partnership with the Jewish Agency, provides more than 2,000 high school students from overseas annually
with an Israeli high school education leading to a quality matriculation certicate.
-MA’ATEFET provides counseling and support services for immigrant students.
-Children of Change, in partnership with the National Insurance Institute, is a national program focused on children of divorced parents within the education system, with the aim of offering psychosocial support and preventing at-risk behaviors.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
The Society for the Advancement of Education (SAE), Jerusalem, would gladly contribute to the Israeli network by engaging with peers and partnering in local, regional and national or international projects and initiatives relating to education and youth, youth exchange programs, youth and/or staff development, community and capacity building, and sharing successful educational models that were developed by our educators and pedagogical staff. In addition, we would love to host events and educational tours in the areas and localities where we operate, mainly in Jerusalem, Kfar Saba, Natanya and Ein Gedi.
We can offer educational lectures, support in organizing network events and invite our partners and colleagues to join the Israeli network.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
As an Educational Association with vast experience and a strong reputation in the fields of Education and youth, leadership and innovation, we would love to further expand our networks and outreach efforts, to meet new partners in Israel and in the Euro-Med region, to implement joint programs and initiatives, learn from others to improve our work and become inspired from good and impactful ideas and educational models that can be implemented in our region with the support of other network members and the ALF Foundation. In addition, we can share our own best practices while getting to know colleagues from the local region and representing the Israeli Civil Society Sector at International forums and events, to build bridges and engage in meaningful dialogue and activities, and together shape the region's future generations.
