IMPACT is a civil society organization founded with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the public, private and civil sectors and developing projects that create long-term social, educational and environmental value. It was created as a natural continuation of many years of work in the non-profit sector, recognizing the need for a more systematic connection of different stakeholders in order to create sustainable solutions for local communities.
Mission and Objectives
IMPACT acts as a neutral platform that encourages dialogue, builds partnerships and develops projects of common interest. The organization particularly emphasizes the importance of involving the private sector in solving social and environmental challenges through joint initiatives, educational programs and investments in local development.
Our approach is based on understanding the needs of the community, connecting the knowledge, resources and expertise of different sectors and creating concrete projects that contribute to sustainable development. Through our activities, we promote the values of responsible business, social inclusion, environmental protection and partnership.
Main Projects / Activities
Educational Environmental Partnership – Studenac Market and Primary School Ploče
IMPACT continued its cooperation with Studenac and Vladimir Nazor Primary School in Ploče through the project "Groundwater, Guardians of Life". After a successful cleaning campaign on the Neretva River, activities were expanded to educate primary school students on environmental protection, recycling and the circular economy. Through interactive workshops, students learned about the importance of responsible waste management and the protection of water resources.
Green School Initiative – JYSK and Secondary Agricultural School Opuzen
In partnership with JYSK and the Secondary Agricultural and Technical School Opuzen, IMPACT initiated a project to develop a school garden and outdoor educational space. The project included planting indigenous plant species, developing outdoor learning spaces, and actively involving students in activities related to sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, and environmental protection.
Makerspace Development – Secondary School Metković
During 2025, IMPACT initiated a collaboration with the Secondary School Metković with the aim of securing financial resources to establish and equip a Makerspace center. This space will enable students to develop practical skills through STEM activities, digital technologies, robotics, 3D modeling, and innovation projects. The project aims to strengthen young people’s competencies for the labor market of the future and encourage entrepreneurial and innovative thinking.
Environmental Research Infrastructure – Opuzen
In collaboration with educational partners and private sector representatives, IMPACT is working to secure funding to establish a soil and water sampling and analysis laboratory in Opuzen. The laboratory will serve as a hub for student education, environmental monitoring, and the development of projects related to sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, and the protection of the Neretva Valley ecosystem.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
We can contribute with project develepment in regenerative agriculture, citizen science intiatives and plastic recycling in communities where that is needed. Also we can organize events for policy dialogue and other activities.
