Main Projects / Activities

The Association “Alternativna produkcija” (AP) actively engages the creative and artistic community in the Tuzla region through a variety of hands-on programs and events. Among its core activities is the multi-instrument educational programme Tuzla Rock School, conducted in partnership with Udruženje „Tuzla Live” and Club “Baza”. This programme offers instruction in drums, guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, vocals and audio/event production, provides dedicated rehearsal space, weekly jam sessions and master-classes, and accommodates participants from age 7 to 77. In tandem with this, AP organizes live performance opportunities: for example, students of Tuzla Rock School opened the 10th edition of the Džumbus Festival on 1 July in Tuzla’s Zlatarska street, under AP’s co-organisation. It organises music performances for both local and regional artists each Thursday, Friday and the weekend, with a legendary jam session on Sunday which gathers the best musicians in town.
Beyond education, AP develops and promotes open-stage formats: the “Open Mic Night” series in Club Baza invites up-and-coming musicians, stand-up performers, poets and other stage artists to perform 20-minute sets, thus fostering grassroots talent and creative exchange. Moreover, AP takes direct responsibility for marketing and presenting cultural events: for instance, they organized a concert of the band RoY in November 2024 at Club “Baza” in Tuzla, blending traditional rock influences with modern reinterpretations, as part of AP’s mission to promote positive contributions to culture and art. AP also organises monthly exhibitions for local artists, photographers and other visual artists. Through these activities — educational efforts, live performance platforms, networking of professional and amateur artists, creative youth-oriented methods — AP fulfills its mandate to promote culture and art, support lifelong learning in the artistic sphere, exchange experience and information with similar organizations nationally and internationally, and support innovative methods for working with children and youth.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Udruženje Alternativna produkcija (AP), based in Tuzla, brings to the Anna Lindh Foundation Network a dynamic platform dedicated to the promotion of intercultural dialogue, creative education, and youth participation through art and culture. By combining professional artistic production with inclusive, community-based initiatives, AP actively contributes to strengthening cultural diversity and cooperation within Bosnia and Herzegovina and across the Euro-Mediterranean region. Through its activities, AP has developed a strong local and regional network of artists, educators, cultural workers, and volunteers. This network could be extended and connected to other Anna Lindh Foundation members, offering a bridge between youth and artistic communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and their counterparts throughout the Mediterranean. AP’s team is experienced in event management, creative education, intercultural programming, and marketing of cultural events—all of which can be mobilized to support the Foundation’s priorities of dialogue between cultures, youth empowerment, and civil society collaboration.

By joining the Anna Lindh Foundation Network, Alternativna produkcija seeks both to share its expertise in creative education and to learn from other member organizations. The Association can contribute by:

Hosting regional workshops, exchange programs, and artist residencies focused on music and cultural entrepreneurship;

Providing creative platforms for intercultural dialogue through collaborative performances and multimedia projects;

Facilitating youth exchanges and participatory learning models based on the successful practices of Tuzla Rock School; and

Promoting inclusive cultural policies and creative innovation within local communities.

In essence, Alternativna produkcija would serve as a vibrant connector between grassroots creativity and international cultural dialogue, contributing to the Anna Lindh Foundation’s vision of building mutual understanding and sustainable cooperation through the power of culture and the arts.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

Udruženje Alternativna produkcija (AP) aspires to join the Anna Lindh Foundation Network to strengthen its international cooperation, enhance intercultural dialogue, and expand opportunities for youth and artists in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As an organization that actively promotes creativity, inclusion, and cultural education through music, art, and community engagement, AP shares the Foundation’s core values of mutual understanding, respect for diversity, and collaboration across borders. Membership in the ALF Network would allow AP to connect with like-minded organizations across the Euro-Mediterranean region, exchange innovative practices, and participate in joint projects that use culture and art as tools for social change. By joining this network, AP seeks to learn from other members’ experiences in intercultural education, artistic exchange, and civic engagement, while offering its own expertise in creative youth programs. Through this collaboration, Alternativna produkcija aims to contribute to the wider mission of the Anna Lindh Foundation — building bridges between cultures, empowering young people through artistic expression, and supporting civil society in creating a more connected and empathetic Mediterranean region. Joining the ALF Network would therefore provide a vital platform for AP to expand its impact, enhance its professional capacity, and reinforce the role of culture as a driver of understanding and peace.
