We are Community (WaC) is a dynamic organization founded in 2022 that uses socially engaged cultural management to strengthen communities, foster inclusion, and celebrate diversity through the arts. WaC combines research, capacity-building workshops, mentoring, and participatory workshop design to empower communities, amplify underrepresented voices, and create meaningful intercultural dialogue. By collaborating with artists, educators, and civic organizations, WaC develops innovative, community-driven initiatives that build skills, promote civic engagement, and connect local and international networks for lasting social impact.
Mission and Objectives
Mission
To strengthen communities through socially engaged cultural management by fostering inclusion, amplifying underrepresented voices, and promoting intercultural dialogue, using the arts as a tool for social impact, empowerment, and civic engagement.
Objectives
Conduct research to inform inclusive and culturally responsive community initiatives.
Design and deliver capacity-building workshops that develop skills in cultural participation, leadership, and collaboration.
Provide mentoring and guidance to artists, educators, and community organizers to enhance their impact.
Facilitate participatory, community-driven workshops and projects that empower participants and foster meaningful connections.
Build local and international networks that promote knowledge exchange, collaboration, and sustainable social change through culture.
Main Projects / Activities
Refugee Week Greece – An annual arts and culture festival celebrating refugee and migrant communities, promoting inclusion, diversity, and artistic expression.
Europe Challenge – Initiatives fostering intercultural dialogue and collaborative problem-solving across European communities.
Libraries for Europe Know-How Labs – Capacity-building workshops and knowledge exchange programs for libraries, educators, and cultural practitioners to enhance social inclusion and community engagement.
Bodossaki Foundation Community Engagement Course – Training and mentoring programs designed to strengthen skills in participatory cultural practice, civic engagement, and community-driven project design.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
We are Community (WaC) can contribute to the Network in our country by fostering network engagement and providing capacity-building opportunities through training, mentoring, and facilitation. We support equality, diversity, and inclusion in cultural and community initiatives and advance advocacy to amplify underrepresented voices. By connecting local stakeholders, artists, educators, and civic organizations, WaC strengthens collaboration, shares best practices, and develops sustainable, community-driven initiatives aligned with the Network’s goals.

We are Community (WaC) seeks to join the Anna Lindh Foundation Network to strengthen its impact on intercultural dialogue, social inclusion, and community empowerment across the Mediterranean.
