WeaveSpring is a women-led nonprofit established in fall 2025 and registered in Lithuania as a public institution. We are led by three co-founders, supported by one additional consultant, and operate as a globally distributed team. As an early-stage organization, we are formalizing our governance and internal systems, while delivering pro-bono holistic organizational development (OD) support to women- and youth-led civil society organizations.
We work across eight core areas of OD: leadership and culture; operations (HR, procurement, management systems); finance; compliance (including safeguarding, PSEAH, data protection, and anti-corruption); fundraising; programs; monitoring and evaluation; and communications. Our approach is trust-based, context-responsive, and learning-oriented.
We currently partner with Water is Life Gaza (Occupied Palestine) and Ilmi Children’s Fund (Nigeria), providing tailored accompaniment across these eight domains. At present, we have no external funding; initial organizational costs are being covered directly by the co-founders, alongside in-kind and pro bono contributions.

WeaveSpring envisions a world where women- and youth-led organizations and initiatives on the frontlines of social change are sustainably resourced to meet community-defined needs. Through values-aligned, trust-based funding partnerships, they reduce dependency cycles and advance locally led solutions. The donor landscape shifts toward bottom-up models shaped by local priorities rather than rigid external frameworks.
Mission:
WeaveSpring empowers women- and youth-led local organizations and initiatives through holistic organizational development, enabling them to grow sustainably, strengthen internal systems, and serve their communities effectively. In parallel, WeaveSpring advocates for trust-based, bottom-up philanthropy that respects local leadership while safeguarding integrity and accountability in the governance and use of resources.
Core Belief:
Those closest to the challenges know best how to solve them. WeaveSpring strengthens local organizations and initiatives through systems, leadership, and internal culture reforms that foster responsible stewardship and community-centered decision-making, while also working to drive change within the donor ecosystem so funding flows reflect local realities and shared responsibility.
Main Projects / Activities
WeaveSpring’s current project activities center on providing holistic organizational development accompaniment to women- and youth-led local organizations. We are currently partnering with two women-led organizations: Water is Life Gaza (Occupied Palestine) and Ilmi Children’s Fund (Nigeria), supporting them across our core organizational development domains to strengthen internal governance, financial sustainability, operational systems, and overall programmatic effectiveness.
Our accompaniment model is trust-based and partner-defined. We work collaboratively to improve long-term sustainability, responsible stewardship, and community-responsive impact, enabling these organizations to better meet locally identified needs while maintaining autonomy and integrity.
Going forward, we aim to expand this work to additional women- and youth-led organizations operating in under-resourced or high-risk contexts.
In parallel, WeaveSpring engages in policy-level advocacy to promote trust-based, bottom-up philanthropy, working to shift humanitarian and development funding toward frontline actors and reduce reliance on intermediary structures that limit local decision-making power.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
WeaveSpring can contribute to the Lithuanian network by sharing emerging learning from our organizational development work, particularly around responsible resource stewardship, internal governance, and sustainability. While our current focus is on women- and youth-led organizations in the Global Majority, many of the systems and approaches we are developing are transferable across contexts. We are keen to engage in peer exchange, build relationships within the Lithuanian nonprofit ecosystem, and both share and learn from others as we continue to grow.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
We would like to join the network because we see it as a space for meaningful peer exchange and sector learning. Engaging with other civil society organizations would help us better understand what is working, where challenges persist, and what priorities organizations are navigating in practice. These insights would strengthen both our organizational development approach and our advocacy for more trust-based, locally led funding models. At the same time, where appropriate, we would welcome opportunities to contribute by sharing our experience or offering pro bono support, particularly to women- and youth-led organizations within the network. We see membership as an opportunity for mutual learning, collaboration, and responsible sector strengthening rather than one-directional engagement.
