Yetim Vakfı is based in Türkiye, founded during the Syrian war to protect children who were orphaned during the bombardment. The foundations main area of focus is supporting orphans and widows that experienced war, trauma, poverty, natural disaster and crisis. The foundation works to improve not only living conditions with humanitarian aid but also programs that support well-being through psycho-social activities and therapy.
Mission and Objectives
Yetim Vakfı’s mission is to protect and empower orphaned and vulnerable children by ensuring their access to essential rights such as education, healthcare, and safe living conditions, while supporting their holistic development in a sustainable manner.
Main Projects / Activities
We operate a range of activities and projects. One of our main project is The Orphan Sponsorship System in which our donors sponsor an orphan covering their monthly basic needs. We have around 26 thousand orphans in the system, another project is the "Peace Station" project where the widows and orphans are able to receive psycho-social support and therapy with experts. We have seasonal humanitarian aid campaigns such as the winter project, Qurban distribution and more.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
In our country, we can contribute to the network by strengthening local engagement and serving as a reliable bridge between international actors and grassroots communities. Through our field experience, particularly in working with orphaned and vulnerable children, we can provide context-specific insights that support more effective and needs-based programming.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
We are interested in joining the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) Network to build meaningful partnerships and expand our capacity to deliver impactful programs. Through collaboration with like-minded organizations, we aim to co-develop initiatives and access broader funding opportunities that will enable us to scale our work and reach more vulnerable communities.
