Main Projects / Activities

Over the past five years, the Assiut Young Businessmen Association (AYBMA) has successfully implemented a series of pioneering development projects aimed at promoting economic growth and creating employment opportunities for youth and women across Upper Egypt, in collaboration with distinguished international and local partners including the European Union and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency. Our primary activities have focused on strategic areas encompassing women's economic empowerment, youth entrepreneurship support, combating irregular migration, and environmental conservation.
In the field of women's economic empowerment, we implemented the "Women's Microenterprise Development in Assiut Governorate" project, which successfully trained 300 women in business management and enterprise establishment skills, and enabled 225 of them to access microfinance loans. This initiative resulted in the creation of 213 new enterprises and the generation of 639 direct employment opportunities for women, significantly contributing to poverty reduction and household income improvement in the targeted communities.
Regarding youth entrepreneurship and business environment improvement, the "Enabling a Better Business Environment in Upper Egypt" project operated across Assiut, Suhag, and Qena governorates, strengthening the institutional capacities of 30 business associations and establishing effective dialogue platforms between public, private, and civil society sectors. The project facilitated the discussion and resolution of 29 organizational challenges facing small and micro enterprises, while attracting 10 new members to the forums and fostering sustainable solutions to business environment constraints.
Furthermore, AYBMA has demonstrated strong commitment to youth empowerment and environmental conservation through the implementation of projects that provided 150 employment opportunities and funded 70 youth-led enterprises following comprehensive training of 100 young men and women on business initiation and development. These initiatives directly addressed irregular migration drivers by creating viable economic alternatives and building entrepreneurial capacities within local communities.
These projects and activities reflect AYBMA's unwavering commitment to achieving sustainable development, promoting good governance, and building local community capacities to effectively contribute to comprehensive development across Upper Egypt. The demonstrated track record of successful project implementation, despite operational challenges including the COVID-19 pandemic, underscores our organizational resilience, technical competence, and capacity to deliver quality results within complex development contexts.
