Youth of Peace e.V. is a non-profit civil society organization based in Germany dedicated to promoting youth empowerment, intercultural dialogue, and democratic participation. The organization works to strengthen social cohesion by supporting young people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds to actively engage in civic life and contribute to peaceful, inclusive communities.
Our core areas of work include human rights education, media literacy, countering hate speech and disinformation, and fostering constructive dialogue across cultures. We organize workshops, youth forums, mentoring programs, and digital awareness initiatives that promote critical thinking, non-violent communication, and responsible citizenship.
Youth of Peace e.V. cooperates with local and international partners, particularly within the Euro-Mediterranean region, to build sustainable partnerships and encourage cross-border collaboration. The organization operates on principles of transparency, equality, non-partisanship, and respect for democratic values. Through its programs, it aims to empower young people to become active agents of peace, resilience, and positive social change.
Mission and Objectives
Mission Statement:
Youth of Peace e.V. is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a culture of peace, democratic participation, and intercultural dialogue. Guided by pluralistic and constitutional principles, we strive to empower young people to become active agents of change in their communities, promoting human dignity and social cohesion across diverse backgrounds.
Key Objectives:
Promoting Peace & Non-Violence: Cultivating a culture of peace and international understanding through dialogue and educational initiatives.
Youth Empowerment: Enhancing the active participation of young people in civic life and democratic decision-making processes.
Intercultural Dialogue: Building bridges between different cultures and religions to promote tolerance and combat all forms of extremism, racism, and xenophobia.
Media & Information Literacy (MIL): Equipping youth with critical thinking skills to navigate the digital world, counter disinformation, and engage in responsible public discourse.
Social Integration: Supporting the integration of migrants and refugees through joint community projects that foster mutual respect and shared values.
Main Projects / Activities
While recently registered in Germany, our organization leverages a rich portfolio of projects implemented by our branch in Yemen, including:
Active Citizenship & Peacebuilding: Training dozens of youth on citizenship principles, tolerance, and conflict resolution, resulting in community-led peace initiatives.
Human Rights & Rule of Law: Workshops focused on international law, women's political participation, and legal awareness.
Educational & Humanitarian Interventions: Implementing 'Balsam Watan' for first aid training and 'Youth Hands' for health awareness and emergency response in schools.
Media & Awareness Campaigns: Organizing photography workshops and school radio programs (e.g., Al-Wiam Radio) to promote the values of coexistence.
Current Focus in Germany: We are now adapting these successful models to create intercultural exchange programs and media literacy workshops for youth in the Euro-Mediterranean context.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
Youth of Peace e.V. can contribute to the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF Network in Germany) through structured, rights-based, and youth-centered engagement that aligns with Euro-Mediterranean dialogue priorities.
As a legally registered association in Germany (VR 7897 KI, registered at Amtsgericht Kiel) , the organization operates under a statute that explicitly commits to democratic values, human dignity, anti-extremism, intercultural dialogue, and youth empowerment . This legal and ethical framework ensures that all activities are consistent with German law and European civil society standards.
First, the organization can contribute by designing and implementing structured youth dialogue programs that connect young people in Germany with peers across the Euro-Mediterranean region. These programs would focus on intercultural understanding, civic participation, peaceful conflict resolution, and social cohesion. Through workshops, dialogue forums, and exchange initiatives, Youth of Peace e.V. can strengthen mutual understanding and reduce polarization—core objectives of the Anna Lindh Foundation.
Second, Youth of Peace e.V. has a strong focus on media literacy and countering disinformation, as reflected in its statutory objectives .
