ALF holds its 78th Board of Governors Meeting in Brussels

Brussels, Belgium, 12-13 February 2026

The ALF held its 78th Board of Governors Meeting, a key moment to reflect on the past and align on the future, and to reaffirm how the Foundation remains useful and relevant to communities and institutions across the region.

Opening the meeting, HRH Princess Rym Ali, President of the ALF, underlined that “Current global mutations and regional spillover effects require a profound deepening of the founding values of our shared Euro-Mediterranean space”.

The ALF General Manager, Mrs. Menna Ashraf, presented the Achievements Report, highlighting three years of transformation in how the Foundation works and delivers, transforming dialogue from being a broad generic term into a process that has clear and measurable outcomes across communities, institutions, and ALF National Civil Society Networks.

The Executive Director, Mr. Josep Ferre, shared updates from the ALF Secretariat and presented the Annual Work Programme for 2026 which was approved by the Board. More than 80% of ALF’s operational programme budget of Phase VII (2025-2028) is channeled directly to National Civil Society Networks and grassroots-level activities across the region. A clear demonstration that supporting grassroot actors and local communities is at the heart of the work we do.

We are grateful to the Board of Governors for their confidence and continued engagement, inspiring us to go further, together.
