JOIN THE DIALOGUE

Dialogue is the way forward for transformation. We design our digital campaigns to transform, change perspectives and challenge negative stigmas and social norms. Our campaigns break misconceptions and stereotypes.

Through those significant initiatives, we utilize digital content as a space to show different shapes and forms of dialogue, to connect and empower voices to digest issues often sidelined in popular discourse.

Connect with us and continue breaking limits and building transforming narratives.

Too often, gender equality is treated as a box to tick, rather than a deep commitment to creating real change. ALF’s #NotJustTickingBoxes campaign, launched in March 2024, challenged the use of “women’s issues” as mere marketing tools by calling for genuine policies of empowerment and inclusion. We highlighted the need to move beyond token acknowledgments toward real action that uplifts and respects women. The campaign featured satirical graphics to expose the superficiality of virtue-signaling diversity policies while offering tangible suggestions for achieving gender equity. With a reach of thousands of users across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, #NotJustTickingBoxes ignited important conversations about gender-based discrimination within the ALF network and beyond. This initiative invited all participants to go beyond ticking boxes and take the hard, uncomfortable road toward true equality for women and girls.

NOT JUST TICKING BOXES

At ALF, we celebrate the rich linguistic diversity of the Mediterranean. While English serves as a bridge for communication across the region, Arabic holds a central place in our efforts to foster inclusivity and cultural exchange. The Anna Lindh bil-‘Arabī initiative was launched to ensure that our work resonates deeply with Arabic-speaking communities, expanding access to our resources and initiatives. By translating key intercultural concepts from English to Arabic, Anna Lindh bil-‘Arabī promotes cross-cultural learning and participation from the southern and eastern shores of the Mediterranean. The initiative also ensures that news, events, and opportunities are accessible to Arabic-speaking audiences, inviting them to engage in our shared mission for dialogue and cooperation.

What does cultural dialogue look like? Is it only found in institutional settings or among diplomats? ALF’s Voices of Dialogue campaign aims to redefine what dialogue means by bringing it closer to everyday interactions. This upcoming initiative seeks to show that dialogue isn’t just about formal meetings; it’s about the exchanges we have with each other daily, whether in our communities or personal interactions. Through a series of video stories, Voices of Dialogue will illustrate how conversations—both big and small—can serve as the foundation for peace, mutual understanding, and cooperation. Get ready for an inspiring look at how ordinary people are engaging in dialogue, creating bridges of understanding, and fostering cultural diplomacy across the region.
