FLAGSHIP PROGRAMMES
The Anna Lindh Foundation Malta Network, chaired by Alec Bvumbura, founder of Cross Culture International Foundation Malta, hosted a World Café activity on November 1, 2024, at the Valletta Design Cluster. This event brought together organizations and individuals from diverse sectors to share their work, discuss challenges, and explore avenues for collaboration.
The event commenced at 5 PM, welcoming participants to a warm and inclusive space. Designed as a platform for dialogue and networking, the World Café encouraged attendees to connect, understand each other’s expertise, and brainstorm on potential joint initiatives. The interactive format was an opportunity for lively discussions and an exchange of ideas that highlighted the strength of collective effort within the Anna Lindh Foundation Malta Network.
Diverse Participation and Critical Topics
Representatives from a range of organizations were present, including the African Media Association Malta, Cross Culture International Foundation, UP Beat Music House, ADHD Malta, Serbian-Balkan Community in Malta, Women Embracing Empowerment Foundation, MTiPX, Maroccan Community in Malta. Each entity had the opportunity to showcase their work, shedding light on their initiatives and the challenges they address.
One of the key discussions revolved around Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). While relatively underexplored in Malta, the topic was extensively developed during the event, bringing attention to the need for greater awareness and resources for those affected by ADHD.
Another poignant discussion was led by a local council representative, who spoke passionately about the exploitation faced by third-country nationals in the Maltese labor market. This conversation sparked a constructive and animated debate, underlining the need for better policies and support systems for vulnerable workers.
Participants left with a deeper appreciation for the diverse work being carried out within the network and a renewed commitment to addressing shared challenges.
