Advancing Social Rights: Ljubljana Policy Dialogue

Thematic area: Democracy and community development

Language: English

14 April 2026, Hotel Slon, Ljubljana (Slovenia)

Last week, Povod Institute co-organised a two-day Policy Dialogue in Ljubljana together with the SOLIDAR network, focusing on the state of social rights in Slovenia and across Europe.

The event took place on 14 April 2026 at Hotel Slon and was organised within the framework of the BRIDGE 2026 programme. It brought together representatives of civil society, public institutions, and international partners to reflect on current challenges and opportunities in strengthening social rights.

The central focus of the dialogue was the presentation of the Social Rights Monitor (SRM) 2025 findings. Participants discussed key trends and recommendations, while exploring how European-level policies - particularly the European Pillar of Social Rights - can support more inclusive and effective national frameworks.

The programme combined expert presentations, a panel discussion on the state of social rights in Slovenia, and an exchange of good practices from across Europe. The discussions highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration, evidence-based policymaking, and stronger engagement of civil society in monitoring and advocating for social rights.

The event provided an important platform for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and strengthening cooperation between national and European stakeholders committed to advancing social rights.
