Alanya City Council, under the leadership of President Nurhan Özcan, joined a protest organized by the Alanya Environmental Volunteers Platform against the planned capacity expansion of the Aytemiz Oil Terminal.

The demonstration brought together NGOs, environmental activists, and concerned citizens, all uniting to protect Alanya's unique natural heritage, clean air, fertile lands, and water resources from industrial threats.

Speakers at the protest emphasized the potential environmental consequences of the expansion, including air and water pollution, ecosystem damage, and the negative impacts on Alanya's agriculture and tourism sectors.

President Ozcan stated:

"We are here for clean air, clean water, and healthy soil. We will always stand for nature, public health, and the right to a livable environment."

The Alanya City Council reaffirmed its commitment to defending nature through public awareness, legal channels, and collective action, stating that a healthy society is only possible with a healthy environment.

Because Alanya is our home — and protecting our home is our duty.
