Digital Memory, Shared Heritage: International Maker Workshops Connect Youth from B&H and Tunisia

Circular Making and Intercultural Dialogue across the Mediterranean”, implemented with the support of the Anna Lindh Foundation through the ALFinMOTION programme funded by the European Union.

The workshops were led by Adnen “Nino” Ben Hadj Yahia, founder of social innovation hub ‘’EL SPACE’’ and recipient of the award for the most innovative green startup in Tunisia for the project “Indinya”, together with Nerman Turkic from Makerspace Garage.

The programme brought together students, young creatives, designers, and beginners interested in digital fabrication, sustainability, maker culture, and creative technologies.

Participants worked directly with 3D scanners, 3D printers, and digital fabrication tools, while also experimenting with upcycling practices using recycled materials and repurposed glass bottles. Through hands-on activities, participants explored 3D scanning, digital modelling, prototyping, and collaborative creative processes connecting technology with sustainability and local community practices.

Beyond technical skills, the workshops encouraged intercultural dialogue and exchange between B&H and Tunisia, creating space for shared learning, collaboration, and new connections among young people from different backgrounds.
