The Anna Lindh National Network Bulgaria organised its Annual Meeting, held on 29–30 June 2026 in Sofia, under the theme “Dialogue for Peace: The Role of Civil Society in the Changing Euro-Mediterranean Region.” The event brought together representatives of civil society organisations dedicated to promoting intercultural dialogue, peace, cooperation, and active citizenship across the Euro-Mediterranean region.The meeting featured a series of presentations, discussions, and interactive workshops led by distinguished experts and practitioners. Among the speakers were H.E. Dr. Anwar Al-Agha, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Bulgaria, Dr. Ioana Constantin-Bercean, who delivered an online workshop on the need for a Mediterranean Peace and Security Initiative, Ruslan Trad, journalist and co-founder of De Re Militari, and Albena Komitova, lawyer, mediator, and representative of the Center for Dispute Resolution. Through keynote presentations, practical case studies, and interactive discussions, participants explored the causes of contemporary conflicts, regional security challenges, and effective mediation and conflict resolution strategies.The event aimed to strengthen the role of civil society in promoting peace, mutual understanding, and intercultural dialogue in a rapidly changing Euro-Mediterranean region.
