Atlas of Today’s World, a member of the Czech Anna Lindh Foundation Network, has launched a new major section of its online encyclopedia: Middle East & North Africa – A Comprehensive Portrait.
Atlas of Today’s World is a Czech non-profit initiative developing a map-based online encyclopedia designed to help non-specialists better understand contemporary global affairs. The project brings together academics, researchers, journalists and other experts to produce accessible, evidence-based and neutral overviews of world regions and global issues.
The newly published MENA portrait offers an introduction to the historical, political, social and demographic dynamics of the Middle East and North Africa. It explores both the common characteristics shared across the region and the significant diversity of its countries, societies and political systems.
The project is implemented by an international volunteer team and is currently seeking new authors, academic and media partners, and supporters. In the coming months, the team will continue expanding the encyclopedia and building partnerships with research institutions, NGOs, media outlets and influencers worldwide.

We will also continue reaching out to potential authors of individual planned encyclopedia entries and negotiating partnerships with research institutions, media outlets, NGOs and influencers.
