Carmel Coast Communities

Meet the new partners in the ALF Israeli network:

"We are a young and dynamic Arab-Jewish partnership community in the Carmel Coast region, working together to promote meaningful social change by strengthening community bonds and interpersonal connections between Arab and Jewish residents in our area.
Our region includes three Arab villages and 13 Jewish towns along the Carmel Coast. The Arab population lives in Fureidis, Jisr a-Zarqa, and Ein Hod—some of whom trace their presence back to villages that existed prior to the establishment of the State of Israel. Although Jews and Arabs in our region have lived side by side for more than 75 years, they have not truly lived with each other, but rather separately. This historical separation has created and sustained tensions, mistrust, and cultural and social distance between the two communities. Local and regional authorities, as well as government ministries, have done little over the years to address this situation.
This is why we established the partnership."
