The project ReTo (Red de Tolerancia contra los delitos de odio) is coordinated by CIFAL Málaga and funded by the European Union under the CERV programme. It brings together a multidisciplinary consortium of partners working collaboratively to address hate speech and discrimination through innovative and inclusive approaches.
ReTo proposes a comprehensive set of activities combining research, training, awareness-raising campaigns, and cultural and educational initiatives. A key component of the project is the use of artificial intelligence tools to analyse hate narratives in media and social networks, generating data that supports the development of more effective public policies. Among its main outputs is the Manual of Communication against Hate Speech and Hate Crimes (2026), designed to guide communication professionals towards ethical and responsible reporting.
The project is developed in the context of the United Nations Agenda 2030, responding to the urgent need to promote coexistence, diversity, and inclusion as the global deadline approaches. It positions Andalusia as a pilot region in the prevention of hate speech.
Participants can benefit from training sessions, such as the upcoming online workshop on 12 May 2026, as well as access practical tools and resources to foster inclusive communication practices.
