CINEBALK Project Officially Launched: Reviving Cinematic Heritage Through Youth & Collaboration in the Western Balkans

CINEBALK is a regional initiative dedicated to strengthening cooperation and cultural preservation across the Western Balkans by empowering youth to reinterpret and promote the region’s rich cinematic heritage through digital storytelling and collaborative filmmaking.

With the support of the Western Balkans Fund, CINEBALK brings together partner organizations from six Western Balkan Contracting Parties, one of which is Albania, represented by YRCI Albania (ALF Albania steering committee member), to train 30 young creatives in the art of digital filmmaking, storyboarding, and editing. The project will culminate in the co-creation of 8 to 10 original short films, celebrating shared cultural narratives and reimagining regional identity through a contemporary lens.

As a highlight of the initiative, a regional film festival will be held in Albania, showcasing the films to live audiences, fostering dialogue, and promoting cross-border collaboration in the cultural sector.
