SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA, Lindower Str. 20/22, Haus C, 13347 Berlin, Germany.

The third edition of Cinema of Commoning will take place in Berlin in July 2026, bringing together an expanding global network of alternative cinema initiatives. Initiated by bi’bak in collaboration with international partners, the project continues its mission to foster knowledge exchange and collective strategies for non-commercial, community-oriented film culture.

Following successful editions in 2022 and 2024, the 2026 program will feature a new cycle of internationally curated screenings beginning in spring at SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA and partner cinemas worldwide, culminating in a three-day symposium in Berlin. The July gathering will convene partner initiatives, filmmakers and cultural practitioners from cities including Ankara, Kigali, Manila, Mexico City and Cairo to discuss models for accessible, artistically independent and financially sustainable cinema rooted in the principles of the commons.

Over the years, the initiative has also developed a discursive online platform featuring essays and podcasts that contribute to a growing international dialogue on cinema as a cultural and social practice. The symposium will take place in July 2026 at SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA in Berlin, Germany.
