Conference on Fair Practice in Culture

We are excited to share an important opportunity for all who are passionate about improving working conditions in the cultural sector. On November 25, 2024, the Danish Artists' Council (Dansk Kunstnerråd) will hold a Fair Practice in Culture conference hearing. This event will explore the potential of a Fair Practice Code to establish new norms for fair and equitable working conditions in Denmark’s arts and culture scene.

The conference will feature a series of presentations from both local and international experts. You’ll hear about the successful implementation of the Fair Practice Code in the Netherlands, and gain insights into a new Danish report exploring the possibility of creating a similar model for Denmark. There will also be a session discussing the working conditions of artists and cultural professionals across the EU. The event will culminate in the presentation of the Fair Practice Prize 2024, celebrating individuals or initiatives who have made significant contributions to improving fairness in the cultural sector. The afternoon will conclude with a networking session, including drinks and snacks, allowing for further conversation and exchange of ideas.

The event is free of charge, and we encourage anyone interested in fostering fairer practices within the cultural industry to attend.

To register, please send an email to fairpractice@komponistforeningen.dk no later than November 20, 2024.

This is an excellent opportunity to engage with key players in the field and contribute to shaping a more just and sustainable future for the arts in Denmark.
