What does it mean to be a journalist or cultural professional in Georgia today? As political polarisation grows, independent media and cultural voices are facing increasing pressure, while disinformation and repression are on the rise.

Join Deutsche Welle for a discussion about the current situation of cultural and media professionals in Georgia, the challenges they face, and the importance of freedom of expression. The discussion will be moderated by Jochen Rosenkranz, Head of Culture & Sports at DW.

Immediately afterwards, at 7:30 pm, the Beethovenfest Bonn Campus Concert: Georgia brings together young musicians from Georgia and Germany, including members of the Tbilisi Youth Orchestra, Bundesjugendorchester and Bundesjugendchor. The programme combines works by Beethoven with contemporary Georgian music and features a new work by young Georgian composer Tsotne Zedginidze, specially created for the Campus Project.

The evening concludes with a reception in the Löwenfoyer on the first floor of the James Simon Galerie.
