How can we help young people become more considerate, tolerant, and responsible in the digital
world? This is precisely the question addressed by the Erasmus+ project “Empathy in the Digital Age:
Harnessing Technology for Understanding and Connection (DigiEmpathy)”, coordinated by the Institute
for Applied Research for Business.
As part of the project, around 150 students from three primary schools in Skopje participated in
interactive workshops focused on empathy, communication, and mutual understanding. Through
creative activities, discussions, and teamwork, students explored how kindness, respect, and
understanding can contribute to healthier relationships in both the real and digital worlds.
The workshops demonstrated that nurturing empathy from an early age is an important step towards
building more inclusive communities and fostering responsible digital citizenship.
The DigiEmpathy project is co-funded by the European Union and is implemented in partnership with
organizations and educational institutions from Macedonia, Greece, Türkiye, the Czech Republic, and
Portugal.
