Thematic area: International/Cultural relations

Language: English

14 August 2026, Karlovo, Bulgaria

For the eighth consecutive year, Karlovo hosted a solidarity event bringing together international and local young people through volunteering and community support. More than 150 French volunteers from Europ'Raid arrived in the town with 50 Peugeot 205 cars, carrying approximately 5 tonnes of donations for children in Karlovo.

The initiative was implemented in cooperation with local young people, Romanian volunteers from the European Youth Centre, children from the Sunday School of Kindness in Kliment village, the community centre in Vedrare village, young people from the Residential Social Services Centre in Karlovo, and the town’s youth football team.

The activity aims to promote solidarity, volunteering, friendship and active citizenship, while supporting children and educational and social institutions in the local community. The donations will be distributed by local youth volunteers among educational and social institutions in Karlovo Municipality. In addition, at the beginning of September, before the new school year, the Youth Information Centre – Karlovo will organise days during which children can receive school supplies and educational materials.

The initiative is an example of how international cooperation and youth volunteering can create meaningful positive change at the local level.
