12-19 february 2026, meetings in The Hague Humanity Hub, Egyptian Embassy, residence two Heliopolis University scholars in Scheveningen, Capelle aan den IJssel, Groningen University, Nunspeet. The planned visit to Brussels was cancelled hours before departure.

The Dutch Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation invited Merna Shalash of Partners for Transparancy to the Netherlands after Partners for Transparancy had earlier invited Cornelis Hulsman of the Dutch network as speaker on July 3, 2025, for a presentation at a side event of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva about the Dialogue Across Borders database about the impact of misinformation on freedom of expression and opinion. Partners for Transparancy, the Arab-West Foundation and the Dutch Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation agree that misinformation fuels conflict and conflict fuels misinformation. Speakers and attendees of the hearing in Geneva agreed that the Dialogue Across Borders database is an initiative with a huge potential to address mis- and disinformation but that ideally needs a coalition of universties and NGOs. Universities reach out to large numbers of students and provide them with much needed theoretical knowledge while through internships with NGOs university students will obtain practical experience.  Not many programs exist that could fund a university-ngo network but EU COST Actions offers opportunities. This needs a substantial active network in which all parties contribute.
