Frames of Integration: Celebrating the Winners of the Photography Contest in Porto

The Frames of Integration photography contest concluded with an award ceremony and exhibition on January 11, 2025, at the Cooperativa do Povo Portuense in Porto. Organized within the framework of the Portuguese Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation, the contest aimed to capture the experiences of immigrants in Portugal, using photography as a medium to promote intercultural dialogue, celebrate diversity, challenge stereotypes, and foster social cohesion.

The jury, composed of international experts in photography, architecture, and social sciences, evaluated 37 submissions from 15 participants. The selected winners demonstrated a strong artistic vision and a deep engagement with the theme of integration and domestic space.

  • Third Prize: Margarida Almeida, with "Várias Cores em um só Coração", featuring a mural with the face of a migrant, whose windows resemble the eyes of domesticity, symbolizing cultural diversity.

The Ceremony and Exhibition

By bringing together diverse perspectives, Frames of Integration succeeded in creating a space for reflection and dialogue on the shared experiences that shape contemporary societies.
