On 21 March 2026, Bucharest participated in a global moment of reflection, joining over 50 countries in the Resilience in Nature Walk. This event was organized as part of the Climate Action Days of the European Climate Pact and coordinated globally by Inner Green Deal.
In IOR Park, one of the city’s largest green spaces, individuals from various backgrounds gathered, including locals and foreigners. What started as a simple walk transformed into an enriching experience of presence, dialogue, and connection.
Facilitated by Teodora Akinola, European Climate Pact Ambassador and President of Diaspora Solidarity Group, the walk encouraged participants to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with nature, themselves, and each other. Through guided reflections, moments of silence, and small group discussions, participants explored resilience, solidarity, belonging, and the meaning of home in a changing world.
As the walk continued, the atmosphere grew more open. Participants shared personal insights about presence, memories, and the significance of connection during uncertain times, fostering a meaningful sense of community. Emil Zorilă facilitated an exercise to heighten awareness of the living world, emphasizing that connection starts with noticing. The event concluded with a symbolic planting, supported by seeds from Casa Semințelor, representing care, continuity, and growth.
