From 2 to 9 August 2026, Pisticci, Matera, and Tolve hosted the 27th edition of the Lucania Film Festival, organised by the Allelammie association. This year’s edition, centred on the theme of “guilt,” gave a platform to voices that often go unheard through a programme combining cinema with social engagement. Among its most moving moments was the exhibition in Pisticci of the Shroud of Palestinian Children, a 25-metre-long cloth bearing the names of 18,457 young victims.
The festival welcomed international guests including filmmakers Mohsen and Hana Makhmalbaf, as well as actresses Maria Chiara Giannetta and Marianna Fontana, under the artistic direction of Rocco Calandriello. Director Marco Tullio Giordana was also presented with the Premio Universale San Rocco, an award conceived by artist Mimmo Paladino.
