In June 2026, oiip published a new edition of its REFLECTIONS magazine, titled "Beyond the Comfort Zone", which aims to make analysis of international politics, trends, and global dynamics accessible to a broader audience beyond academia

As Director Cengiz Günay explains in his preface, the issue starts from a sense of global liminality, with established orders dissolving and Europe in particular having moved beyond its comfort zone as a once-defining power. Rather than dwelling only on risks, contributions deliberately also explore the opportunities such periods of disorder can create.

Thematically, the issue ranges widely: shifts in the transatlantic relationship and US politics under Trump, European strategic and economic autonomy, China's energy strategy, weaponized economic interdependence and supply chains, and the economic roots of populism. Other pieces cover soft power and popular culture in geopolitics, decentralized energy and resilience in Lebanon, accountability and memory after political violence, the African Continental Free Trade Area, and major political turning points such as Maduro's capture and the end of Orbán's rule in Hungary. The issue also highlights civil society's role in democratic renewal, introduces the newly founded oiip Academy, and features a "Young Voices" section.
