The city of Rijeka in Croatia hosted the international conference “The European Pillar of Social Rights in the Mediterranean Context – Toward a Fairer Society” on 13 November. The event was organized by the Centar za mirovne studije from Zagreb, which invited Povod Institute from Slovenia to participate.

Representing Povod Institute, Aleš Tomažič presented an overview of the social and policy situation in Slovenia, highlighting key developments, challenges, and good practices in implementing social rights at the national level. The conference gathered experts, practitioners, and policymakers from across the Mediterranean to exchange experiences on creating fairer and more inclusive societies.

Through its participation, Povod Institute reinforced its commitment to social justice and regional cooperation, sharing Slovenian perspectives on social rights, equality, and inclusive policy development in the Mediterranean context.
