Mediterranean Migration’ project report
The reports produced under the ‘Mediterranean Migration’ project delve into the evolving migration dynamics and the policy responses in Egypt, Lebanon, Cyprus, and Greece, looking at the period 2021-2024.
The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, in collaboration with its partners—the PRIO Cyprus Centre, the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs (IFI), and the Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy (#ELIAMEP)—has conducted a comprehensive comparative analysis of these questions, drawing on studies from Egypt, Lebanon, Greece and Cyprus.
While these countries occupy different positions in the migratory journey—whether as points of origin, transit, or destination—the research reveals striking
similarities in how they navigate and attempt to manage these roles within the broader regional migration landscape.
