Between 25 July and 28 August 2026, IAC Centro Arti Integrate is taking its production Mediterraneum Proximum on tour through archaeological sites and museums across Basilicata, including Palazzo Lanfranchi in Matera, the Temple of Hera in Metaponto, the Grumento Nova Archaeological Park, and the museum in Policoro. The performance imagines the Mediterranean 100,000 years from now, when the sea will have receded, weaving together performing arts, mythology, and Mediterranean cultural heritage.
Through the dialogue between landscape, myth, and contemporaneity, Mediterraneum Proximum invites the public to reinterpret the Mediterranean not only as a legacy of the past, but as a living space for questioning the present and the future.
